Topley set for Hampshire move

Reece Topley looks set to being his trade for Hampshire next season, with the South Coast county securing the youngster amidst competition from seven other counties.

According to ESPNCricinfo’s George Dobell, Topley will join Hampshire on a two-year contract, despite uncertainty as to what division of the County Championship they will be playing in next season. It’s also believed that money was not the main reason for Topley’s switch to the Ageas Bowl, citing a promising future for the Club as outlined by chairman Rod Bransgrove.

Topley averages less than 26 with the ball in all three formats of the game and, having made his international debut against Australia today, is set for big things with England.

It is also believed that Paul Grayson will also be leaving Essex, while the future of Club captain James Foster is in doubt, accoring to ESPNCricinfo.
