Jordan extends Sussex stay

Sussex County Cricket Club has today announced that 27 year old seamer, Chris Jordan, has signed on to stay with the club until the end of the 2017 season.

Having moved to the county from Surrey in 2013, he has since been recognised by England, appearing in all forms of the game for his country and is currently in the squad for the upcoming World T20.

Jordan missed a large portion of the 2015 season through injury; playing just six County Championship matches. With Sussex now relegated to Division Two, the club will no doubt be delighted to keep such a player on the books.

Sussex’s Head Coach Mark Davis said, “CJ is a vital member of our team and balances us in all formats of the game. His all-round ability as a fast bowler, destructive batsman and brilliant catcher makes him a key member of our team at Sussex.

“I’m thrilled he has extended his contract and look forward to him making vital contributions to winning games for the club.”

Jordan added, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be extending my contract to stay longer at a club that I have grown to love and one that now feels like home.

“I’m looking forward to putting in my best performances on the pitch, helping Sussex back into Division One and back to winning trophies.”
