Middlesex County Cricket Club have released two pieces of news this week with regards to key members of their team. Nick Compton will be taking a break away from all cricket while Mitchell McClenaghan has been ruled out through injury

The England and Middlesex batsmen has had an intense start to the 2016 season and as a result, Middlesex CCC alongside England Team Management have agreed for Compton to take a break away from the game.
The feeling is that this is the best tonic for the physical and mental pressure that playing sport at the highest level can involve.
Middlesex CCC’s Director of Cricket Angus Fraser released the following statement:
“Nick sets himself very high standards and makes a huge commitment to cricket.
“We all believe that some time away from the game now will allow him to refresh, recharge and return to play the sort of cricket we all know he is capable of producing.
“During this period Nick will receive the full support of Middlesex CCC and the England Cricket Team Management.”
Mitchell McClenaghan
The New Zealand overseas signing for the Natwest T20 Blast season has been brought to a premature end following news that McClenaghan has sustained a stress fracture to his pelvis.
The 30 year old fast bowler complained of a pain in his left hip during Middlesex’s T20 clash with Essex on the 10th of June and then again the following week, explaining that the pain had intensified by the 17th of June.
A scan revealed the stress fracture which comes with a minimum of six weeks rest, which of course rules him out of the rest of the tournament.
Angus Fraser, Middlesex CCC’s Director of Cricket, said:
“Losing Mitchell is a big blow for us. He is an outstanding white ball bowler that brings variety, skill and nouse to any side he plays for.
“Finding a replacement of similar quality at such short notice is proving extremely difficult. A number of international tours are scheduled in July and August and the Caribbean Premier League is about to start.
“Mitchell will undoubtedly be missed but his absence gives opportunities to other bowlers on our staff.
“Mitchell’s misfortune could well give them the stage on which they can show people what they are capable of producing.”
