Hampshire v Middlesex at the Rose Bowl
Stumps Day 1: Hampshire 315/7 (Carberry 107, Dawson 87*) v Middlesex
Hampshire pushed ahead on day one at Southampton, finishing the day with an impressive 315 against Middlesex, while the visitors watched their captain Adam Voges carted off the hospital with a suspected concussion.
Heading in to bat first, the hosts lost Jimmy Adams early followed soon after by James Vince. Michael Carberry got lucky, as he was dropped not long after hitting his half- century. The powerful opener certainly grabbed his luck in both hands, going on to reach 107 before finally being removed by James Harris.
Adam Wheater, Ryan McLaren and Chris Wood were also removed before the end of the day, but Hampshire still look like putting together a solid first innings total. Liam Dawson remains unbeaten on 87.
